Xactimate Cost in 2026: What Roofers Actually Pay Verisk

Xactimate is the software adjusters use, so most insurance work runs through it — which is why roofers pay for it whether they want to or not. Here is the published price, what it includes, and when you can reasonably skip it.

The short answer

Verisk's published contractor pricing is $1,575 for six months or $2,390 per year for Xactimate Standard (one platform: desktop, online or mobile). Xactimate Pro across all three platforms is priced through their portal. If you do insurance restoration, budget it as a fixed cost alongside your CRM — it is not included in any CRM subscription.

Why roofers pay for software they resent

Adjusters produce Xactimate scopes. If you estimate in a different format, every claim becomes a translation exercise: your line items get re-priced, your quantities get argued, and your supplement arrives later than it should. Xactimate's price database and its acceptance by insurers is the product — not the interface, which most roofers describe with some force.

How to keep the cost down

  1. Buy the six-month term if your work is seasonal — storm season plus a couple of months, not twelve.
  2. One platform, not three. Standard on desktop is enough for most roofers; Pro across desktop, online and mobile rarely pays for itself below a dedicated estimating team.
  3. One licence, not one per crew member. Estimates are produced by one person; the crew needs job data, not Xactimate.
  4. Pair it with the cheapest CRM that does the rest. There is no reason to buy an enterprise CRM to justify an estimating licence.

FAQ

Is Xactimate included in any roofing CRM?

No. It is a Verisk subscription, priced separately. AccuLynx offers ESX import from Xactimate, which is an integration, not a licence. Any vendor implying Xactimate is included is worth double-checking.

Can I share a licence?

Licences are per user. Sharing credentials breaks the terms and risks your access mid-claim. If cost is the constraint, buy fewer licences and have one person produce estimates.

Is there a free alternative for insurance work?

Not one insurers accept as standard. For retail work there are free tiers (see free roofing software), but claims are a different problem.

Does Xactimate work on a Mac?

There is an online version, which is the practical answer for Mac users — check which platform your licence covers before buying, because that is exactly what Standard's single-platform limit refers to.
